Parade & Festival Notables & Royalty from 2007




Royalty of the Festivities


Four girls, one from each of the public high schools in Napa Valley: Vintage High, Napa High, St. Helena High and Calistoga High have been selected to reign over the Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festival coming up on Sunday, May 6th.

Each of the four winners will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon graduation from high school.

Maria Avalos

Maria Avalos, a senior from Vintage High School is this year’s queen. Maria has a strong academic record, participates in track, loves art and is planning to go to college and ultimately be a personal trainer.

Daisy Najera, a senior from Napa High School is one of this year’s princesses. Daisy believes in volunteering and service to her community. She places a great deal of importance on her high school academic performance and is looking forward to attending college after she graduates.

Xinia Gamero, a senior from St. Helena High School is a 2007 princess. She loves mathematics and says college is her top priority. She has done lots of community service and has participated in the Summer Search program.

Daisy Polanco, a junior from Calistoga High School is also a 2007 princess. Daisy is very active in community service, in school leadership programs, and has also attended Summer Search. She plans to study cosmetology at Vintage Academy in Napa and open her own beauty salon one day.
